The site exists because the official tools at gov.uk are accurate but limited — they tell you your monthly repayment but not whether you'll ever clear your loan, and certainly not whether overpaying makes sense for you. That's the gap we fill.
Every calculation is based on official figures published by gov.uk and the Student Loans Company. We update the constants every March or April when new thresholds and interest rates are announced. The full methodology, including our tested calculator engine, is documented on our methodology page.
The site is funded by display advertising and a small number of affiliate links to FCA-regulated financial products. We don't take payment for recommending any product, and our content is written first — affiliate links are added after.
